Chocolate Waffles
I really wonder why I have only baked light waffles until now. This chocolatey recipe is a delight in the afternoon and provides a beautiful visual contrast when the powdered sugar trickles down onto the chocolate waffle. I personally like to offer my guests a choice of different waffles, if you are the same way, you might want to add these chocolate waffles to some Belgian Waffles. Enjoy! -Josefine
You need
- 50 g Butter
- 250 ml Milk
- 2 Eggs
- 40 g Sugar
- 125 g Flour
- 1/2 Pk. Baking Powder
- 1 Pinch Salt
- 3 TBSP Baking Cocoa
- 2 TBSP Corn Starch
- 50 g Dark Chocolate
- Powdered Sugar to sprinkle on top
Here’s how to do it
- Melt butter in a pot and let cool. Mix milk, sugar and salt. Stir in eggs. Sift flour, cocoa and baking powder and mix into the dough. Finally, chop the chocolate as small as possible and stir in.
- Bake the waffles in a greased waffle iron for about 4 minutes. With chocolate waffles, unfortunately, you can not decide on the color, if your waffle is ready – you might just need to try
- Sprinkle with some powdered sugar to serve.
