Farmer’s Pot

What can I say to a farmer’s pot. The various ingredients fit together perfectly and topping it with sour cream makes it even better. Perfect for autumn and winter, although I make it all year round. -Nicole

You need
 

  • 2 Onions
  • 500 g Potatoes
  • 1 Bell Pepper
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 TBSP Vegetable Oil
  • 500 g Ground Beef
  • 1 TSBP Tomato Paste
  • 1 Can Crushed Tomatoes
  • 500 ml Vegetable Broth
  • Chives
  • Sour Cream
  • Spices: Salt Pepper, Paprika

Here’s how to do it

  • To begin, peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes.
  • Wash the peppers, remove the seeds and dice them as well.
  • The carrots are peeled and cut into pieces.
  • Peel and chop the onion.
  • Now heat the oil in a large pot and fry the meat. Add the onions and fry both briefly.
  • Next, add in the peppers, carrots and tomato paste. Everything is now cooked together for a short time.
  • Then add the crushed tomatoes and the vegetable broth, followed by the potatoes and let it simmer for about 20-30 minutes until the potatoes are cooked. If necessary, add a little more broth.
  • Finally, season to taste with salt, pepper and paprika powder.
  • Now the chives are washed and chopped.
  • The farmer’s pot is now served on plates or in bowls topped with a some sour cream and chives.
  • Enjoy!
