Ground Meat Strudel with Puff Pastry
Sometimes I just prefer savory food. This ground meat strudel is similar to the burger casserole, super tasty but also very rich. Since the ground meat does not need to be fried beforehand, the meal is prepared in no time. Only forty-five minutes preparation and baking time (total) is needed for this delicious dish. Try it out!-Josefine
You need
- 1 Pk. Puff Pastry
- 500 g Ground Meat
- 1 Red Bell Pepper
- 100 g Sliced Cheese
- 200 g Cream Cheese
- 1 Egg
- 1 TBSP Milk
- Salt, Pepper, Oregano
Here’s how to do it
- Roll out puff pastry. Spread cream cheese on top, leaving 5 cm on one short side.
- Separate egg whites and yolks. Whisk egg yolks in a separate bowl with a tablespoon of milk and set aside.
- Dice bell peppers and sliced cheese and mix with ground meat in a bowl. Knead in the egg whites. Season generously with salt, pepper and oregano. Now spread the ground meat mixture evenly on the puff pastry. Again, leave out the previously uncovered 5 cm.
- Now roll up the puff pastry over the short side. The finished roll is placed with the „seam“ down and pressed together at the ends so that the mass cannot escape. The top is now cut at 2-3 cm intervals and brushed with the beaten egg yolk.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 25 minutes until the top is golden brown. Done!
