You need
- 250 g Honey
- 200 g Sugar
- 65 g Butter
- 125 ml Malt Beer
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 TSP Ground cardamom
- 1/2 TSP Ground Cloves
- 1 TSP Cinnamon
- Rum Flavor
- Bitter Almond Flavor
- 500 g Flour
- 1 TBSP Baking Powder
- 150 g Powdered Sugar
- 4 TBSP Hot Water
Here’s how to do it
- First, put the honey, sugar, butter and malt beer in a pot and slowly heat everything until it melts.
- Place into a mixing bowl and let chill.
- When the mixture has cooled down, slowly stir in the following ingredients: egg, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, rum flavor and bitter almond.
- Now, sieve thee flour and the baking powder, and stir it slowly into the dough.
- Once you are done, you can spread the dough on a baking tray. The tray should have a slightly higher edge. You can also fold a rim with baking paper. Line the baking tray with baking paper or grease it with butter. Spread the dough about 1 cm thick on the tray.
- Next, bake your dough at 175-200 °C for about 20 minutes. Since every oven is different, I advise you to check with a stick test revery 10 minutes to make sure that it does not burn or get too dry.
- After taking t out of the oven, garnish with icing.
- For the icing, sieve 150 g powdered sugar into a small bowl and add 4 tablespoons of hot water. Now mix both until you have a smooth and viscous mass.
- Spread evenly on the warm pastry.
- As soon as the honey bread has cooled down you can take it off the tray and cut it into small pieces.
- Cut into pieces it can be stored perfectly in small boxes.
- Enjoy!
