Pear Cake

Pear Cake

with chocolate drops
Once a month I get a box with fresh organic fruits and vegetables. This time pears were included, so the idea for this cake was born. The recipe is for half a tray (about 26x20cm), because a whole tray for two persons plus a mini-man is a little too much. This cake reminds of brownies with a fruity pear note. I’ll be if you like it too

Portions 0.5 Baking Tray (approx. 26x20cm)

You need

  • 125 g Butter
  • 80 g Sugar
  • 1 TBSP Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Eggs
  • 100 g Flour
  • 1 TSP Baking Powder
  • 30 g Cocoa Powder
  • Salt
  • 80 g Dark Chocolate Drops
  • 2 Pears

Here’s how to do it

  • Mix butter, sugar and vanilla extract to a smooth dough. Add the eggs one by one. In a separate bowl, mix flour with baking powder, salt and cocoa powder and gradually add to butter mixture. Now fold in chocolate chips.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Spread dough onto a small baking tray. Peel pears and cut into narrow strips. Finally, carefully press the pear strips into the dough and bake for approx. 25 min.
  • Garnish with dark chocolate coating or powdered sugar, if desired.
